Game #156: A's 9, Mariners 10 in 10 innings

September 25, 2006 | A's @ Seattle

It's the last week of the regular season, have we clinched yet?

I'm throwing out everything else I was going to say about this game. It doesn't matter. Huston Street gave up five hits and three runs in the 9th, allowing the Mariners to tie the game at 9-all.

All I can think is, "Are guys like Huston Street ready to go to the playoffs?"

And, "Are we going to go the playoffs at all this year?"

10:38 PM - Mariners win. Disgusting. That's all I have to say.

(Game experience: Action 36 Cable 6)

A's record: 90-66 | streak: L-3 | magic number: 2 | well-A-meter: 2.00

well-A-meter 2????????

Whoa. Have a little faith, woman. The A's have had these self-destructing games all season. They get clobbered 13-2 and then run off 4 straight wins.

We just need 1 of 4 from the Angels at the end, regardless of what happens in Seattle. And this was one of the times when "things even out." You just can't keep puttin' a beat-down on a major league team for 17 straight times. It defies all probability.

I will say that Huston looks like an unsafe Street at night, but that, too, may pass.

Keep the faith.

I think lowering the well-A-meter down to 2 is justified. They couldn't hold a 9-3 lead in a game that mattered. Not only that, they cost me $100 in Las Vegas last night as a bet on them as an alternative to an unpredictible MNF game.
