ALCS Game 2: A's 5, Tigers 8

October 10, 2006 | A's vs. Detroit
Gosh, is Jeffrey going to get kicked off before the Bryant Park show for cheating?

Oh, wait, back to baseball... but I'm too tired and sad to write much.

• Favorite memories of this game: chanting "Brad-ley" over and over each time Milton Bradley came to take his position in right field after hitting a home run in the previous inning. This happened twice, of course! The first time, Bradley punched his fist and we ate it up. I'm so glad he acknowledged the crowd. The next time, Bradley playfully put his hands up as if to say, "What can I do? I hit it out of the park!" I was not the only one who called out, "Bradley, we love you!"
• And then there was the false hope that was the 9th inning. Frank Thomas, Nick Swisher, and Marco Scutaro have been pretty quiet this series.
• I heard about Cory Lidle's death early this afternoon through my Mets fan co-worker. At first I couldn't believe it until I checked the New York Times website myself. I remember when Lidle pitched a string of 20-plus shutout innings back in 2002.
• Put into that perspective, what's a loss in the ALCS? We're alive.

More later.

ALCS: A's 0, Tigers 2 with 5 games to go | NLDS: Mets 0, Cardinals 0 with 7 games to go

Keep the faith. If the Tigers could win two here, we can win two (or three) there. The logic is impeccable. Unfortunately, reality may interfere.

I believe in Haren and Hardin (and the bullpen). If Zito comes through, we could win all three. Now there's an idea.

PROJECT RUNWAY 3 SPOILERS!

I don't think Jeffrey gets kicked out. They do this trick where all the previews are extremely misleading. Those were probably tears of joy Jeffrey's shedding because Tim Gunn announces the investigation is inconclusive and he can continue to show at Bryant Park.

I think Jeffrey did farm out some of the grunt work (he has an established business and I'm sure he already has sewers on his payroll). On no other season of PR have I ever seen a finalist be completely finished when they head back to NYC a few days before the show. Laura's justified to be suspicious.

But I did go online and surfed around and I'll leave you with this: I've seen photos of Jeffrey's collection from Bryant Park which means he did show which strongly implies he didn't get kicked off.

Random writings in the blogosphere and some in the mainstream media seem to imply that Jeffrey will end up winning PR3 because he had the strongest collection. Remember, the fashion show itself took place weeks ago.

Thank goodness I have this other piece of television that holds my attention besides A's baseball.
